Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs what you may and may not do with the NumberOTP platform ("Service"). It supplements our Terms of Service. Violations may result in account suspension or termination without refund.
✅ Permitted Uses
NumberOTP is designed for legitimate technical and business workflows, including:
- Software testing & QA — validating SMS onboarding flows, testing verification UX, automating test suites
- Account onboarding — businesses that need to provision or test accounts at scale during development or staging
- Research & development — evaluating carrier delivery rates, latency, and international SMS routing
- Personal verification — receiving a single OTP for your own account on a service you legitimately use
- Privacy-preserving access — using a virtual number to avoid sharing your personal phone number with a service you trust
- Business operations — enabling employees or contractors to verify business accounts without sharing personal numbers
🚫 Prohibited Uses
The following uses are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination:
Fraud & Identity Crime
- Identity theft or impersonation of any person or entity
- Phishing, smishing, or social engineering attacks
- Bypassing fraud detection or KYC/AML verification systems for illegal purposes
- Using numbers to deceive payment processors, banks, or financial institutions
Spam & Platform Abuse
- Bulk creation of fake or duplicate accounts on any platform
- Generating fake engagement, reviews, votes, or followers
- Operating bot networks or coordinated inauthentic behavior
- Any action that violates the Terms of Service of the target platform
Illegal & Harmful Activities
- Any activity that violates applicable local, national, or international law
- Money laundering, terrorist financing, or sanctions evasion
- Facilitating the distribution of illegal content (CSAM, drugs, weapons, etc.)
- Harassment, stalking, threats, or targeted abuse of any individual
Platform Abuse
- Creating multiple accounts to exploit free credits or trial offers
- Reselling or redistributing numbers obtained through the platform
- Automated scraping of prices, numbers, or any platform data
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract proprietary systems
Abuse Detection & Enforcement
We actively monitor usage patterns for abuse signals including high error rates, unusual volume, repeated free-credit exploitation, and anomalous IP behavior. We cooperate fully with law enforcement requests and reserve the right to report suspicious activity to relevant authorities.
If you believe your account was suspended in error, contact us at abuse@numberotp.com with your account details and an explanation.
Reporting Abuse
If you observe misuse of our platform — including accounts being used for fraud, spam, or harassment — please report it to abuse@numberotp.com. We take all reports seriously and investigate promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP at any time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We will notify users of material changes by email.
